Receiving data

An eXite® user may send a data collection request to eXite®. With the eXite® service parameters it must be specified which data type per syntax (EDIFACT or XML) should be collected, and if the data to be collected should be “zipped” or not. Furthermore eXite® needs to know if all data within a given mailbox should be transferred in one file, or if the data should be transferred in a "one interchange at the time" mode. Selective data collection via “user message class” or other filter criteria is also possible.

Active forwarding

The default mode of a mailbox is passive. Therefore the user must send a collection request to eXite® in order to obtain the data that is stored in his mailbox. As an optional setting a mailbox can have an active forward status. In this case every incoming data is immediately forwarded to the users server. To use this option, an active forward communication protocol (P2Pv2) must be supported by the users system and allow eXite® to make a login at his server. The port number that is used for active forward is 20000.

Active notification

The active notification mode represents a compromise between the passive mailbox and an active forward system. If "active notification" of a given mailbox is activated, the user receives optionally an e-mail, an SMS or an IP socket event for every incoming message.
