Active Notification

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

This function informs the participants about interchanges which are recently received in the mailbox. This way the user is able to efficiently pick up all interchanges without loss of time and permanent queries concerning the mailbox content. The P2P notification enables the partner to receive automatically a signal, which triggers the standard protocol to pick up the interchanges. Three types of active notification are distinguishable. The type selection can be done in your master data of the physical mailbox.

TCP/IP Notification (Socket Event Notification): This type of notification is neither a signal nor active forwarding such as the P2P protocol. The signal is transmitted via a TCP/IP socket connection to a certain port. The software of the client has to wait for the signal at the specific port to trigger an action. Please notice that, to use this service it is essential to enter the IP address (a system which runs the eXite® communication client, e.g. eXite®-link) and the port (20000). Furthermore the router and firewall have to be configured properly, in order to build up an efficient eXite® connection. For further information concerning the configuration within eXite®-link we refer to chapter 6 of our eXite®_link manual.

E-mail notification: The notification will be distributed via e-mail. It is essential to enter the e-mail address of the user within the setup menu in order to use this service.

SMS notification: The notification will be distributed via SMS. To use this service it is essential to enter the telephone number of the user within the setup menu.
